Question Is this something special?

Lately, I have been getting lots of weapons that are "precious" and have mods. Is this something special?

Don't quote me on this, but I think precious just means that it sells for more money to the merchant, the mods are just.... mods

Precious just means merchant pays more for it.

Also if you salvage them they will have higher amount of crafting materials than none precious items.

AncientPC and Medion are completely correct.

Viper's statement may be true, but I am not completely sure.

When I was farming heavily, I loved getting precious 1/2 the time rather than golds 1/10 of the time. Why? More merchant food!

Tested this, and I agree with you. Precious will almost always net more on average, or a rare-crafting mat.

note

anything that will usually salvage into silk with an expert salvage kit i now use a regular salvage on.

cost of salvage 16 / sell to trader for 15.

i would rather have 6 bolts of cloth than 1 silk

Note

I'm unconvential with my salvages. Anything I can't use I salvage unless it sells to merch for more.

That's just me ^_^

I'd rather have 1 silk, per the fact I might be collecting it for something? stack of 50 steel ingots, ftw.
